The John H. Schaff Platform Tennis Classic in Grand Rapids, MI, supports the Cleveland Clinic Sleep Disorders Center. In it fifth year, the tournament provides a fun, competitive opportunity for players of all abilities. All funds raised through the tournament go directly to Cleveland Clinic to advance research, education and awareness of sleep apnea. We welcome you to join us!

The tournament is hosted by Mary Schaff in honor of her late husband, John Schaff. An avid platform tennis player, John passed away at the age of 57 in part due to complications with sleep apnea, a highly treatable condition that impacts more than an estimated 22 million people in the United States alone.

Following the untimely death of her husband, Mary has become an ardent advocate for education and awareness surrounding sleep apnea and has developed a close relationship with Dr. Nancy Foldvary-Schaefer, DO, MS, Director of the Sleep Disorders Center at Cleveland Clinic Sleep. All proceeds & donations form the tournament go to the Cleveland Clinic Sleep Disorders Center to help advance research, education and awareness for sleep apnea.

Donations from the winter fundraiser go directly to Cleveland Clinic Sleep Disorders Center to advance research and education on sleep disorders.
